Kugmo Designs

So what do you wear now? I wasn't asking of the brand name or the type of clothing that you're wearing right now, I was asking about the theme of your shirt. Maybe, I am referring to the design of the shirt that you are wearing. I've noticed recently that there have been a lot of themed shirts sold in the market. There are Patriotic shirts like the one that boasting the Three Stars and A Sun logo, Cartoon Character shirts, or just those simple shirts that has nothing but plain color or if blessed, has a stripes on it.

Yesterday, I logged in to my IM account at Yahoo! and was buzzed by a friend from Davao. He was just so excited informing me about his new line of business, T-Shirt Designing. Well, the theme is common but the idea is unique. My friend's design are humorous but classy. I was like laughing of its brand name "Kugmo" because of its meaning in vernacular. If you're a bisaya, then you can understand what does "Kugmo" mean. My friend is claiming that his designs are not that good or not that cool but if you're gonna look at it at http://kugmodesigns.multiply.com/ , then you can prove him wrong. Below are one of the sameples of his designs and if you want to purchase, you can go ahead and order it on his Multiply page.

Nokia Photo Browser

Nokia Photo Browser

Browse your photos with stunning 3D effects

Nokia Photo Browser is an experimental photo browser that makes your viewing experience quick and fun:

* Pleasing visual effects
* Intuitive touch UI
* Magnifying glass
* Face browsing

Compatibility and system requirements

Works well on Nokia devices based on S60 5th edition, S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1, and S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2. The touch interface is only available with the S60 5th Edition including Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and N97.

Popular questions and problems:
1. Who in the forum are Nokia Photo Browser (NPB) team?

hokkane4, juhakaup, and nkaneko are the developers responding in this forum. Our posts have the blue "staff" emblem attached.
2. What is Photo Browser trying to achieve

We believe photo viewing should be a fun and pleasure

We'd like to see you launching NPB just to kill some time or to relax
We'd like to see you showing your photos to your friends using NPB
We'd like to see you taking more photos because you want to view them with NPB
3. "Not compatiple" warning appears while the installation

Please don't worry and just proceed with your installation. It will work fine. We'll try to fix it at some point in the future releases.
4. "Expired certificate" installation error for 5800 XpressMusic

Unfortunately, we cannot provide good solution to this as Photo Browser is not a part of the problem. You can find the latest updates on this problem in the following forum thread.

http://betalabs.nokia.com/forum/topic/1474

One of the solutions recommened in the thread is to execute the factory reset. Please be confirmed what will happen before you commit. It will really erase and reset.
5. Slow image loading, gray boxes, and blurry pictures

Please allow a few seconds for each picture to generate a thumbnail for the first time. While the thumbnail is not ready, Photo Browser shows either gray box or low resolution image (looks blurry in the single image view). Once generated, the picture will load very quickly from the next time.

The fastest way of getting thumbnail generated is to launch Photo Browser and just leave it for a while. Moving the grid causes CPU to be spent for rendering therefore delaying the generation to finish.
6. N96 takes forever to load images

We've been reported by some patient users that only a few images are loaded after 20 minutes. Unfortunately, we cannot make commitment to solve this problem. It may be because of the hardware it has. It may be because of the system software. And of course, it may be NPB.

We very much appreciate your feedbacks on how it works with the individual product. But please also understand that we cannot provide good support for every device model here in the Beta labs.
7. Menus, dialogue boxes, image information appear in the side way

It is definitely not the design intention. But we just chose not to delay the release trying to fix it. We'll try to fix it at some point in the future releases.
8. It's missing xxx function that is in the Gallery

Your suggestions for new functions are most appreciated. That's why we're making the releases in the Beta labs.

Having said that, please also be reminded that we're not exactly trying to create the replacement for the Gallery application, which is useful for general many purposes. Photo Browser is the experiment having focus on exploring how photo-viewing can create an exciting user experience.

Of course, this doesn't mean that Photo Browser should be strictly limited to looking at pictures. If it is fun and starts continuously from photo viewing, that means a great idea.

Please take this oppurtunity to read the topic 2 above as well.

9. Better zoom quality, view-by-group, and Bluetooth send

They have been popular request. And we have some ideas under trials. Hopefully, we can make them available at some point in future releases.

Dengue!

Mosquitos ain't no cool for real. I really hate them since day one. Its like they doesn't have any contribution to our ecosystem and now, they have messed up my life. Know what happened? I stayed for 6 days at the hospital because of that insect's bite. I had a dengue fever. Do you think that's cool? That ain't cool. I effin' hate mosquitos. Good thing my girlfriend is there to take good care of me. Though she's not physically there, she took care of me on her own personal way. I felt special everytime she calls me and monitor my condition. She would stay awake up to 5am just to check on me. She sacrificed a lot when I was there at the hospital and I did really appreciate it. Appreciated everything she had done. She actually planned of coming here in Manila but for some reason, she could not be able to do so. That was fine for me as long as she's not gonna leave me. As long as she would stay there for me. I love her yesterday and today and will continue to love her tomorrow and the rest of my days. To Tisha, please bear in mind that I will always be here for you, loving you to the fullest.

Rest In Peace Francis "Kiko" Magalona

Of all the celebrity sad stories, the big story of the say is the saddest story of all. Its sad because one of my Pinoy Rap Idol died. Yes, Pinoy King of Rap, Francis "Kiko" Magalona died of Leukemia today past 12:00PM. At first I did not really believe my online friends telling me this heart-breaking story. I just realized that this one is for real when I went home from the Internet Cafe and heard the news on T.V. Everything was clear to me now, good and inspiring people like him can get a severe illness like this. I was really inspired by him that he has been patriotic since day one. I can still remember my childhood days rapping his hit song "Mga Kababayan Ko". He has been an inspiration to a lot of young Filipino's. A great lost in the Entertainment Industry. He's not actually gone, his legacy would still be in the heart of every single Filipino. He is like Tupac of the Philippines. A strong man. I can see on his pictures that even though he is ill, he can still smile and say to the people that he's doin' just fine. Really a strong man. Philippine Rap industry lost a great man. I just hope that somebody can make a song like Francis' tracks. To Francis, we'll be seeing you at the Crossroads. Much Love and Respect. Rest In Peace Home's!

Ring of fire: Indian Ocean to see solar eclipse

A few lucky people in the Indian Ocean will be treated to a rare event on Monday when an annular solar eclipse will transform the Sun into a dark disc with a blazing ring-shaped corona around its rim.

In solar eclipses, the Moon moves between the Sun and Earth, casting its shadow on the terrestrial surface.

Nokia XpressMusic Now Available In The Philippines

I don't know if its still new to everyone but for me, its really a fresh news since I've been expecting this phone to be released here in the Philippines in the second quarter of the year. Last Monday, I was strolling in a mall in Mandaluyong and looking for something to buy when I saw this shiny Nokia 5800 XpressMusic displayed in a Nokia Store. I immediately entered the store and went to the direction of the phone. I was so amazed that this phone is already available here. The Nokia's iPhone was released and I haven't heard of the news about it. I thought I'm already updated to some Nokia news but on this situation, I'm late. I then asked the sales lady if how much does this phone cost and she told me that its only P19,800. I was shocked that its so cheap. The lady told me that the reason why its cheap compared to some Nokia releases is that its not an N-Series phone and its only an XpressMusic Phone. Ok? What's the difference between the two if this phone has the feature of an N-Series Phone. Based on my knowledge, this phone is already Symbian OS5 and has accelerometer and a full touchscreen interface. This phone comes with a free 8GB Original Nokia Micro SD. I want to own a phone like this but I think I need to starve to death before I could buy one. I should stick to my N82 then if that's the case. So for those who wants to buy a gift for this Valentine, this might be a very great option for you.

ZooZBeat Lite: Turn Your Phone Into A Music Studio!

Unlock Your Musical Expression
And Creative Potential With ZooZBeat

ZooZBeatZooz Mobile, is a small group of graduates and faculty from the Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology who decided to bring some pretty cool projects from their labs to the hands of everyone.

ZooZBeat is the first Zooz’s application ported to S60 devices that lets you make loops of music of varying complexity.

ZooZBeat is an accelerometer based mobile musical studio, simple enough for non-musicians to immediately become musically expressive but rich enough for experienced musicians to push the envelope of mobile music creation.

Start playing with just a click or select among background beats in a variety of styles. Use shake and tilt movements, tap the screen, or press the keypads to create and modify rhythmic and melodic lines. Based on years of research, our propriety musical engine will interpret your actions into beautiful music that fits your style.
ZooZBeat N95 Group Jam

There is a free Lite version which features 2 background beats and 10 instrument sounds, pretty limited in my personal opinion but at least it is free. Anyway, if you like it and if you need more powerful music composing tool you can upgrade it to full version for $2.99 to double amount of beats and instruments and unlock few more cool features like voice recording and the ability to save/load tracks.

Unfortunately, application is only compatible with pre-FP2 phones, (Nokia N95/N82/N93i) but I hope they'll soon release a version compatible with new S60 sensor framework and all accelerometer equipped FP2 devices like, Nokia N96, Nokia N85, Nokia N79, 6210 Navigator, Nokia E66, as well as first 5th ed phone, Nokia 5800.
Features:

* Up to 4 background beats and 20 instrument sounds
* Voice Recording - sing or talk into your phone and our musical engine will fit your voice into the music. You can then replay, modify, and transform your voice with fun effects. (not available for iPod Touch)
* Saving and loading songs - create and access your personally created music library on the go
* Accurate note entry in Landscape Mode

Do you want to know if your Images are stolen?

TinEye is a reverse image search engine. You can submit an image to TinEye to find out where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions. TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification technology rather than keywords, metadata or watermarks.

What is TinEye?

TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification
technology. Given an image to search for, TinEye tells you where and how
that image appears all over the web--even if it has been modified.

Just as you are familiar with entering text in a regular search engine
such as Google to find web pages that contain that text, TinEye lets
you submit an image to find web pages that contain that image.

Where can I find out more?

For the latest news and info about TinEye, check out our blog at
http://blog.ideeinc.com/category/tineye/

You can also find out what's new by checking our TinEye Releases page at

Waterbox - Accelerometer based software

WaterBox is actually a fluid simulator that uses the built-in accelerometer to detect the phone movement and simulate the fluid moving across the screen according to phone position and moving direction.

All graphics are done with OpenGL ES although it probbably isn't the best possible choice for 2D graphic but since Teemu is already familiar with codding in OpenGL he decided to use OpenGL engine for this cool application.

Unfortunately, this software doesn't have a very nice graphics so just bear with it. But this application is great to impress the power of your mobile phone's accelerometer!

How to find password for Rar / Zip Archives.

A lot of us are enjoying the free downloads that we see over the internet. But there are some free downloads that are in Rar or Zip format that are encrypted with password. For me, its so useless sharing a software or a download link that has a password on it. I've found a simple solution that was posted by a co-member in a mobile forum and right now, I'm about to reveal what's the secret on how to be able to get the password of those encrypted archive. The solution is very simple, ask "Pareng" Google. First, all you have to do is to search for the filename of the compressed file using Google. Just read carefully of all the results that was provided to you and there you will see the password of the compressed file. Below is an example.

Filename : dap9beta_cw.info.rar ( http://rapidshare.com/files/166155974/dap9beta_cw.info.rar )

Try to Google the filename (only the filename not the whole link) and read carefully on all the results. Some results will say Pass: or Code: and the next line is the password of the archive. If you don't get any password from your first result, try to put the word "pass" after the filename and this time, it should give you the archive's password. This trick will really work 99% guaranteed!
