To My OWTel Friends

It was indeed a short span of time when we were together. We haven't even spent a time hanging outside the room. I just wanna say thank you all to the laughs and the shared moments. That'll be treasured for sure. To the Trainers and my classmates, you became a part of my book. One of the latest chapters that has been made. One of the chapters that should be bookmarked. I was touched by a friend's testimonial in my friendster ( http://www.boffillfs.tk )account saying something like this that's why I tried to create a post dedicated to my OWTel Friends. Thanks to you and to the OWTel batchmates! Peace!

I just wanna say thank you all to the laughs and the shared moments.

I'm Dead

Ever tried faking your death? I Tried! That was like December last 2006 when some crazy idea popped up on my mind. This idea was actually inspired by Tupac when I heard a lot of stories about him faking his death. So I said to myself that what if I will try this thing too. So to be able to pursue my plans, I asked my friend to create a letter for me as if I am already dead. Without knowing my plans, she really made me a letter and sent it to my email. After that, I published it to my website ( www.boffill.tk ) and waited for some results. I changed my number that time also so that my friends will unable to contact me. This crazy idea was only intended to my friends and for me to be able to know who really cares for me. After a few days of publishing this letter, I received a lot of feedbacks from my friends and I was like very happy knowing that there are a lot of them who do really care for me. I'm insane! I'm Dead!

They say they are Smart but not Smart enough to serve their clients!

I was wondering what is up with Smart TeleCommunications. I recently received a P15 pasaload from my mother and then enrolled myself to Unli20 since I still have P10 left from my previous load. After being enrolled to Unli20, I was so happy texting my friends but then what happened next is that all of my messages can't be sent. I keep receiving this message "Message Sending Failed" though I believe that I am still enrolled in Unli20 a while ago. Smart is really giving me the option of shifting to another Telecom Company. I have been using their service for almost my text life but yet they have changed my point of view when I heard a lot of bad comments from them recently and also experienced it personally. Really a bad service!

Can somebody help me with this?

I have a flash disk that is has a 1GB memory. I plug it on a USB Port and it immediately opened. What contains may F-Disk is my personal files and some installers and my MIRC Scripts. On the default window of my disk, you can see 3 files and the rest are folders with its categories named on it. It was running normal until such time that I noticed that the 3 files that are on the default window of my disk disappeared even if I did not delete it or accidentally deleted it. I transfered to another computer and there I can't locate those 3 files now. One of those files is very important for me. Is there any other way that I can view back those files? It was not hidden because I went to TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > VIEW HIDDEN FILES but it did not appear. Anyone can help me with this ? I only need that 1 file. Thanks for the reply!

Coral Bleaching Is A Calamity

Who would not love to eat seafood delicacies? Try to think of a crab, fresh fish, shell, shrimp or lobster that is served on your table. Very mouth watering cuisines that can really make us crave for it almost everyday. Filipinos are rich in marine resources that are why seafood is one of the favorite foods to be served in the table by most of us. But what if time will come that there will be no more fresh fish in the market? No more calamares as an appetizer? Yes, it is possible. It will happen if we will not be conscious of what is happening in our marine resources. It was reported that on the year 1998, 16% of the world’s coral reef suffers coral bleaching. Meaning, they will die if they cannot recover on a matter of time. An increase to the water’s temperature will lead to coral bleaching.

What is coral bleaching and how can we prevent it?

Coral bleaching is a calamity. It is a state wherein the coral reef will almost die if they can’t recover because of the continuous warm temperature that is happening in the ocean. The corals will lose its beautiful colors and will turn into white that’s why it is called coral bleaching. It can be considered as an illness to corals that needs to be cured of. Coral bleaching is happening because of the global warming (I presume that you all know what global warming is). Humans are affected with this coral bleaching because corals are the habitat of all fishes. It is where fishes live. If corals will die, fishes will die also, food chain is affected especially humans. In the Philippines, only 4.1% of corals are in pristine condition. Even the well known tourist spot, El Nido, Palawan, is suffering from this calamity. Philippines’ marine sanctuary is rich in different type of fishes that that of the great barrier reef of Australia. Meaning, a lot of marine resources are really affected of this calamity. Preventing is so easy. Discipline to us is important. Conserve electricity. Stop burning dried leaves and woods. Recycle plastic wares. Stop dynamite fishing and other abnormal ways of fishing. In short, let’s stop the increasing rate of pollution because it will lead to global warming. Let’s take good care of what did God gave us because we will not know when will be the right time that he will be going to get it back to us!

Philippine Discrimination

For those who don’t know what Bisaya is, it is a race or ethnicity in the Philippines that covers most of the people from Visayas and Mindanao Islands. I believe that Bisaya is the biggest ethnicity in the Philippines. In my situation, both my parents are Bisaya so I am definitely a pure blooded bisaya. I was raised in Davao City wherein 80% of the population is bisaya and the rest are a combination of Muslims and other ethnics. I was born a bisaya and raised as a bisaya (though we speak tagalong at home). There have been a lot of successful Filipino people that came from our race whether it is in sports, politics, entertainment or business. Unfortunately, some of the people from other ethnics were so mean and so discriminating. After so many years of spending almost my whole life in Davao, I transferred here in Manila due to some personal reasons. Meaning, I need to mingle and be with some people that doesn’t understand bisaya people. On my first few months of staying here, I didn’t expect that there are people that are so mean that they don’t feel that they have already offended me or should I say the bisaya race. Base on what I have observed, it is a stereotype that if a person will learn that he is conversing with a bisaya, he would immediately thinks of a low class person. There was this situation before that I passed by to this group of kids playing on the streets and they were shouting and having fun under the heat of the sun. One kid shouted and mispronounced the word “itlog” to “itlug” and when his playmates heard it, they all laughed and teased the kid saying “Bisaya ka pala? Haha! Bisaya! Bisaya! Bisaya!” and then they ran away from the kid. Listening to them, I was like very mad because of the teasing happened. That event is an evidence of discrimination that even kid are practicing. I wrote this article to educate those racist Filipino people that bisaya are also Filipino and has the right to live normal. Even if it is just teasing or mistreating, that’s discrimination and that is unjust. If you are from a different race, don’t be dominant that it’s as if you own this country. We are all Filipinos and we all have the right to be Filipino. I pity those discriminating people because they are uneducated and undisciplined!

Incomplete

This is one hell of a photo. It's almost complete. I am saying almost because there are only 3 of us that are not included in this picture. I hate being left alone here in Manila. I wasn't there on the group when they took this photo. It was just sent to me by my auntie from Naval, Biliran via Friendster. I was actually having a training for work there in Ortigas when all of them had a vacation. I never thought that they were almost complete so I just think that it was just an ordinary vacation. I never thought that they will also visit Bohol. They were together having fun without me, my kuya and Christian. I hope the next time that the family will be having this kind of gathering, I will be present and I will be going to laugh and enjoy the moment with my cousins. I missed them a lot.

Bayani Fernando's Tarpaulin

If you are a very curious Filipino Citizen, you would have think why the heck did Bayani Fernando put his face on this tarpaulin flooding the whole Metro Manila now. As you can see, 3/4 maybe of that tarpaulin is his face and below is some kind of a quotations for Filipinos. What is really annoying is that he is using the people's tax with his personal agenda. He just want an exposure and publicity for the 2010 Philippine Election. A very rampant abuse of power. His name is "Bayani", a tagalog term for "Hero" but it doesn't really show to his personality. I am just an ordinary citizen that is concerned of what is happening to our country.

Proudly Pinoy - Balot

That photo that you can see above is one of the favorite Pinoy Street Food. This is locally called as "balot". It may seem an ordinary egg for those who doesn't really know it. It may look so disgusting to those people who is new to this kind of food. It can be considered as an exotic food anyways. This one is the best "pulutan" for me. It will make my mouth watering and me craving for it even if I will just hear a vendor shouting its merchandise. It is great to be combined in hot vinegar and salt. Sometimes I would spend a hundred bucks just to spoil myself in eating this street food. In a single eating, I can finish about 5-10 eggs for me alone. Lots of Filipinos love this kind of food. Even a socialite would eat this but there are also some Filipinos who doesn't really like to eat this. Maybe because of its content. The "Baby Chick". Yes, it has a baby chick inside. Specially those eggs that are 18 days old. Some of my cousins will just eat the yellow part then give me the baby chick. I don't know if it is also available in other countries but here in the Philippines, it is really available anywhere in the country. If I would visit a place, I would immediately find for a balot vendor just to quench my thirst of its soup. Haven't mentioned it that this egg has a soup inside. Come to Philippines and let's see what you got in eating balot!

Boffill's Ambigram

This is an Ambigram of my Name. A friend from Symbianize made me this ambigram. His username there is iCon. I first saw Ambigrams on "The Da Vinci Code" both Movie and the book. Swastika of Hitler is an example of an ambigram also. As for my own understanding, ambigram is a word or phrase or picture that if you will invert it upside down, the same image or word will appear that its as if you did not invert the picture.
